Sorts of hosting services

A hosting solution is related to stockpiling and/or sharing certain web content on a web hosting server run by a web hosting supplier. There are various sorts of hosting services used for different goals, so let's examine them. In that way, you can elect what you want, depending on whether you desire to launch a site, e-mail address accounts, or to share files with comrades and partners.

- File hosting: a service provided by certain companies, which allows you to share immense files. These could be disk images, films, audio files, archived documents, etc. This service is also known as file storage, and its only aim is to share files, since it does not offer website uploading. The moment the files are uploaded, you will either obtain a randomly created download link for each of them, or you will be able to see a register of all the files in a directory, but you will not be able to see .html or .php web site files in your browser. Free-of-cost file hosting accounts frequently include adverts beside the download links, while a timer obliges you to await a given period of time to view them. A given file can be downloaded with restricted speed. If you get a paid file storage plan, there are no limitations as to how many files you can upload/download immediately, and also there is no limit in regard to the download speed or the file size.

Now, with the help of the cPanel hosting providers, "file hosting" is being renamed to the more voguish "cloud hosting". This is a totally amiss interpretation of the real denotation of "cloud hosting". A real cloud website hosting environment would assign the workload between separate groups of hosting servers in a cluster, which are committed to attending different web site hosting services (email, data storage, stats, DNS, databases, CP, etc.) So, the file hosting service is only a brand of a data storage hosting solution, not a cloud hosting one. It's not even close.

- Image hosting: similar to file hosting; some corporations provide a hosting solution for pictures exclusively. This hosting brand is good if you want to share a huge amount of pictures with mates or partners since the solution is usually free. You will receive a randomly generated link for every pic or album and you can then share this link. As with the file storage solution, .html and .php files are not supported, so the service cannot be used for sites.

- E-mail hosting: a service dedicated to administering your mail address accounts. Some providers provide web hosting services for web sites, but do not supply an email hosting solution. If you wish to open a mail address with your domain name but do not want to keep a website, then the email hosting solution is what you need. You can open e-mail box accounts and administer them, but there will be no hosting service for the domains. The e-mail hosting service involves incoming POP/IMAP and outgoing SMTP servers.

- Video hosting: this solution enables you to upload and share video clips. You can either share a link to a given video clip, or you can embed the video in your web page that is hosted somewhere else. The advantage of utilizing this method instead of uploading the video in a web hosting account is that the video brings about a given amount of CPU load, so with a bunch of video files and a few hundred website viewers, you may have trouble with your webspace hosting quotas. Embedding the video clip will enable you to administer as many video clips as you desire without bothering about system quotas.

- Web hosting: this is the service that you require if you desire to have a web site. To some degree, it comprises all of the aforementioned hosting groups since, along with your web sites, you can also host pics and files, you can keep databases and mail address accounts, upload video files, etc. At 50Webs Web Hosting, for example, you can take a look at web hosting and dedicated hosting solutions that enable you to have all of the aforementioned services in a single place. There may be restrictions based on the form of hosting solution that you've settled on - a free hosting account, a paid shared hosting package, a VPS or a dedicated server. Depending on that, your website hosting plan may be better or worse juxtaposed to the standard email/file/video/image hosting plans that are tailored for particular content solely.
